LACMA 2_A reversible museum.

''Monumental architecture will be something more than strictly functional. It will have regained its lyrical value. In such monumental layouts, architecture and city planning could attain a new freedom and develop new creative possibilities.''

J.L.Sert,F.Leger

LACMA, the encyclopedic museum as an “art-city”. An architectural catalog that enhances harmony as much as contradictions and discontinuities which in turn contributes to its capacity to remain significant over time: variety in unity.

It will be saturated with immersive and consecutive spaces where you come in and come out, with layered offerings in all directions. Each space will make hundreds of destination choices simultaneously visible and will indicate in which direction even more choices become visible.

In this city the is no inside-out control. Negatives and positives are all designed to be reversible. The multiple and different ways to perceive the spaces will be generated by the users, their never-ending blurred activities, and the continuous adaptation of its architecture to its inevitable change.
